The project consisted of two Sub-projects:
Sub – project 1: Sub-project 1: The sub-project included the study, procurement, installation, commissioning and maintenance of Display Walls, which received real-time information from the Energy Management System (EMS) and replaced the existing mosaic charts of outdated technology.
Sub – project 2: Sub-project 2: The sub-project included the procurement, installation, commissioning and maintenance of new Air Conditioning Systems at the premises of IPTO’s Energy Control Centers.
Sub-project 1: With the implementation of Sub-project 1 (Display Walls), the monitoring and control of the National Interconnected Power Generation and Transmission System was upgraded and modernized. Moreover, the installation and use of new lighting and new work desks in the ECC’s control rooms also supported a clear and unobstructed view of the information displayed on the Display Walls, facilitating the performance of the duties of the technical staff of IPTO in the ECC’s control rooms.
This sub-project was implemented by IPTO in the context of its obligation to ensure the supply of electricity through the Hellenic Interconnected Transmission System in a safe, efficient, reliable and environmentally friendly manner.
Sub-project 2: With the implementation of Sub-project 2 (new Air Conditioning Systems), cooling infrastructures of old and non-environmentally compatible existing equipment were upgraded. Alignment with relevant environmental rules and the reduction of consumed energy by thirty percent (30%) were achieved by replacing the above-mentioned equipment. The proper operation of the air conditioning equipment was crucial for the safe operation of the information systems of the Energy Control Centers, on which the critical software platforms of the Energy Management System (EMS) and the Market Management System (MMS) of IPTO were hosted.
