Dr. Gan Xiangyang holds a bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Energy and Thermal Utilization and a PhD in Nuclear Energy Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University (1991-2002). Currently, Dr. Gan Xiangyang is the Director of the Overseas Operations Department at State Grid International Development Co. Ltd (SGID).
He was previously a Board Director of North China Power International Business & Trade Ltd. (2017-2021). He began his career at the Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2002-2006). He worked as an Expert in the Information Technology Department at State Grid Corporation of China from 2006 to 2009.
Then, he was an advisor in the Information Technology Department at National Grid Corporation of the Philippines between 2009 and 2014. Since 2014, he has held senior roles at SGID, including Deputy Director and Director in Strategy & Information, Business Development & Strategy, and Overseas Operations Departments.
Dr. Gan Xiangyang has an extensive understanding and working experience in the utility industry, as he played a pivotal role in the acquisition and operation of a variety of investments in electric power and energy assets.
