DRTD attended the Electrical and Computer Engineering Student Conference of Greece (ECESCON)

The IPTO Department of Research and Technology (DRTD) team attended the Electrical and Computer Engineering Student Conference of Greece (ECESCON) at the University of Patras, where we had the opportunity to meet with young talents, discuss about IPTO’s culture, and presented our work at a specially dedicated workshop under the subject “Enabling the future Energy System”. Within that workshop we presented several research projects that DRTD participates, namely the #Flexitranstore, #Crossbow, #Farcross, #5G-VICTORY, #Smart5Grid, #CoordiNet, and #OneNetproject and covered different topics, i.e. Grid Enhancing Flexibilities, 5G Integration in the future power systems, and Flexibility Markets. All research projects aim at introducing new technologies to the design and operation of the Transmission System and promoting the Electricity Market. In particular, #OneNetproject aims at creating the conditions for a new generation of grid services able to fully exploit demand response, storage and distributed generation, while creating fair, and transparent conditions for the consumers. This customer centric approach to grid operation is achieved by proposing new markets, products and services, implementing a unique IT architecture, and creating consensus via a large-scale forum for discussion within the international energy community.
