On October 15–16, 2025, the InterSCADA project partners met in Athens for the second General Assembly, marking six additional months of collaborative progress. This in-person gathering served as a valuable opportunity to align efforts and plan the next stages of the project.
Over two productive days, the consortium discussed a range of topics, participated in several workshops, and visited the alternative/direct current (AC/DC) converter station of the Crete-Attica electrical interconnection, near Koumoundourou Extra High Voltage Center (ΕHVC). Specifically:
Status Reporting & Timelines: Work package and task leaders presented the progress achieved and outlined upcoming milestones.
KER Workshop: Partners reviewed the project’s Key Exploitable Results (KERs), discussing their relevance and applicability with the current project status.
Demo visit: Participants toured the Attica AC/DC converter station near Koumoundourou EHVC, which serves as the connection point to mainland Greece’s power grid for the Crete–Attica DC electrical interconnection. Although not the Greek demo site of the InterSCADA project, this interconnection ranks among the top five most innovative DC interconnection projects in Europe and is controlled by its own SCADA system.
Dissemination Workshop: ICONS led a session on communication and dissemination strategies, providing practical guidance to enhance the project’s visibility and outreach.
All the above, along with a discussion focused on improving coordination and ensuring consistency across work packages, helped refine the roadmap for upcoming project activities.
Stay tuned for the next developments!
