Flexitranstore

Project Description

FLEXITRANSTORE aims to contribute to the evolution towards a smart pan-European transmission network with high flexibility and high interconnection levels to host an increasing share of renewable energy. FLEXITRANSTORE will provide methods and tools, market strategies and business models for system integration of smart transmission and storage technologies. FLEXITRANSTORE targets to link the actual field innovations with the transmission system flexibility assessment methodology as well as to connect the market design and the new business models and flexibility remuneration services with the technology requirements in the field. IPTO, in cooperation with ICCS of National Technical University of Athens, participates in two demonstrations:

a) advanced power flow control device in the Peloponnese region in Southern Greece to relieve local congestion with RES, prevent any loop flow and increase network transfer capacity,

b) installation of a battery energy storage system in the Northern Greece that uses customized controller that will foster specific services to improve the share of clean energy unleashed in the grid while maintain a high level of reliability and stability.
