Project Description
The aim of the project is to develop a new-generation EPES platform, capable of empowering the resilience of energy systems against cybersecurity incidents and privacy violations to electricity disturbances and human errors. This will be done through risk assessment and asset certification, anomaly detection/prevention, failure mitigation and energy restoration while addressing internal threats and gaps using AR-VR-based personnel training and certification. IPTO participates in Pilot 2 of the project in collaboration with the University of West Macedonia (UOWM) and Public Power Corporation (PPC) aiming to demonstrate the ability of ELECTRON to safeguard a real Electric Vehicle (EV) charging network from potential cyberattacks and effectively mitigate/prevent them, thus ensuring the normal operation safe and avoiding devastating network cascading effects.
For the purposes of the pilot and in the context of the involved scenario DRTD has established a lab-based testbed comprising of a Schneider Saitel DP RTU, SEL PMU, IKSRA Transducer, network switches etc, using communication protocols such as Modbus, IEC60870-5-104 etc.
