Crete Valley attended the Electrical and Computer Engineering Student Conference of Greece (ECESCON) 2025

The IPTO Department of Research and Technology (DRTD) participated in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Student Conference of Greece (ECESCON) 2025, held in Thessaloniki on April 24-26. As the largest engineering student conference in Greece, ECESCON brings together the next generation of innovators across Power Systems, Control Systems, Electronics, Computing, and Telecommunications.

During the event, our team had the opportunity to engage with aspiring engineers, share insights into IPTO’s mission and culture, and present our work in a dedicated workshop titled “Securing the Energy Transition.” In this session, we showcased several ongoing research projects involving DRTD, including the Crete Valley project. These initiatives aim to integrate cutting-edge technologies into the planning and operation of the Transmission System, supporting Greece’s journey toward a more sustainable and resilient energy future.

Crete Valley aims to create a decentralized renewable energy system that combines leading-edge ICT technologies, interoperable and open digital solutions, social innovation processes, and sound business models that are easy to adopt. CRETE VALLEY will demonstrate a digitalized, distributed, renewable, low carbon landscape that is affordable for all and fully covers the local energy needs on an annual basis, utilizing multiple renewable energy carriers and leveraging energy storage technologies.

We are honored to see Crete Valley highlighted at such a vibrant event dedicated to shaping the engineers of tomorrow.
