Η ηλεκτρική διασύνδεση Κρήτης-Αττικής
περιλαμβάνεται στην κορυφαία πεντάδα
των πιο καινοτόμων έργων διασύνδεσης
συνεχούς ρεύματος πανευρωπαϊκά.
Περιλαμβάνει δύο υποβρύχια καλώδια
υψηλής τάσης συνεχούς ρεύματος (HVDC)
μήκους 336 χλμ., τάσης 500 kV και συνολικής
μεταφορικής ισχύος 1.000 MW, που
ποντίστηκαν σε βάθος ρεκόρ έως 1.200
μέτρων στον πυθμένα του Αιγαίου.
Στα δύο άκρα της διασύνδεσης, την Αττική
και το Ηράκλειο Κρήτης, κατασκευάστηκαν
δύο υπερσύγχρονες εγκαταστάσεις
υπερυψηλής τάσης, ο Σταθμός Μετατροπής
Κουμουνδούρου και ο Σταθμός Μετατροπής
Δαμάστας. Παράλληλα, για τη σύνδεση του
δεύτερου με το τοπικό σύστημα της Κρήτης
κατασκευάστηκε και ένας νέος Υποσταθμός
GIS 150 kV. Κατά τη χάραξη του έργου, ο
ΑΔΜΗΕ έλαβε υπόψη τα αιτήματα των
τοπικών κοινωνιών για ελαχιστοποίηση της
οπτικής και περιβαλλοντικής όχλησης.

Identity
The Crete-Attica electricity
interconnection ranks among the top
5 most innovative interconnection DC
projects at European level. It involves two
submarine 500 kV HVDC cables, 336 km
in length, of a total 1,000 MW transmission
capacity, laid in record depths of up to
1,200 meters on the Aegean seabed.
On both ends of the interconnection, in
Attica and Heraklion, there are two state-
of-the-art high voltage centers under
construction - the Koumoundourou and
Damasta converter stations. At the same
time, a new 150 kV GIS Substation was
constructed to connect the latter to the
local system of Crete. During the design
of the project, IPTO took into account the
requests of local communities to minimize
visual and environmental nuisance.
