IPTO supports doctors and nursing staff in public hospitals

Support for public hospitals

The Independent Power Transmission Operator supports the doctors and nurses of public hospitals with a a donation of 200,00 enhanced protection masks. The N95 masks (FFP2 type) were transported from China by a special Aegean Airlines flight, and were delivered to the Ministry of Health on Saturday, 25 April 2020.

The initiative was launched following the donation of medical equipment worth 370,000 euro to four reference hospitals by IPTO and the donation of 500,000 masks by its strategic partner, the State Grid Corporation of China. At the same time, the Operator is launching additional actions to support the colossal effort of the National Health System against the spread of the pandemic.

The Minister Of Environment and Energy, Mr. Kostis Hatzidakis, stated: “I would like to congratulate IPTO for this initiative. The energy sector companies rose to the challenge of these difficult circumstances, not just by ensuring the uninterrupted supply of power, natural gas and fuels, but also by demonstrating their heightened sense of social responsibility. Their donations reinforce the NHS and are a valuable dowry for the future”. 

The Minister of Health, Mr. Vasilis Kikilias, stated: “IPTO has supported the National Health System from day one, it supports the doctors, nurses and paramedical staff, particularly those serving in the Intensive Care Units. We would like to warmly thank the Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr Kostis Hatzidakis, and the President and CEO of IPTO, Mr Manos Manousakis.”

Mr Manos Manousakis, IPTO Chairman and CEO, noted on the subject: “IPTO stands by the doctors and nurses of the National Health System, who are fighting on the front line of this war. We will support public hospitals until the end of this trying period, which will all hope will end as soon as possible.”
