IPTO collaboration with Athens School of Fine Arts

The Independent Power Transmission Operator, in the context of its Corporate Responsibility activities, has the pleasure of entering into a collaboration with the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA).

This fruitful cooperation was launched with the “Interconnecting Greece” sculpture competition, with the participation of 29 graduate students of ASFA who created artworks inspired by the work and values of the Operator.

The competition was judged by a special Panel consisting of ASFA professors and members of IPTO’s Management, who selected the top three sculptures. The artists were awarded during a special ceremony held at the company’s headquarters and the award was accompanied by a symbolic cash prize. All works submitted in the Competition are being displayed in a special exhibition in IPTO’s building on Konstantinoupoleos Street.

Mr Manos Manousakis, IPTO Chairman and CEO, stated: “The Operator stands by young artists and supports their work. With this initiative, we support a Public University and build bridges between new art work produced in Greece and the social activities of IPTO, also giving the opportunity to Company employees to come into contact with Art in their own workplace. We would like to warmly thank the Rectorate of ASFA, and mostly the students, who embraced this initiative and created art works which reflect in the most eloquent manner the Operator’s contribution and mission.”

The Dean of the Athens School of Fine Arts, Mr Nikos Tranos, noted: “IPTO’s interest in promoting the work of young artists and collaborating to this end with the Athens School of Fine Arts was a pleasant surprise. The exhibition of artworks in public spaces is a priority for us. We would like to thank IPTO for giving the opportunity to young artists to present their work, and for - as a demonstration of its social sensitivity and respect for culture - giving the opportunity to the public visiting its spaces, as well as its employees, to come into contact with intellectual tools such as artworks. We hope that this collaboration will continue and will grow, and we hope for the joint organisation of art-related activities in the future”.
