The Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO) announces the signing of an expression of interest agreement by the State Grid Corporation of China for acquiring a minority stake in subsidiary “Ariadne Interconnection”, which is implementing the Crete-Attica interconnection.
The agreement was signed by Manos Manousakis, Chairman and CEO of IPTO, and Kou Wei, President of the State Grid Corporation of China, at the Maximos Mansion, along with 15 more agreements, in the framework of a state visit by Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, to Greece.
The agreement signed by the two parties reflects the active interest of State Grid Corporation of China to acquire a stake of up to 20% in the share capital of Ariadne Interconnection, in the context of a future tender process.
Mr Manousakis noted on the subject: “IPTO welcomes the interest of the State Grid Corporation of China, the Company's strategic partner, to invest in Ariadne Interconnection, thus participating in the electrical interconnection of Crete with mainland Greece, of a total EUR 1 billion budget.”
