Welcome to the CRETE VALLEY newsletter! 

The CRETE VALLEY project is well underway, working to transform Crete into a beacon of sustainable energy. With four Community Energy Labs (CELs) in place, we're building a decentralized energy system powered by a plethora of Renewable Energy Sources and innovative technologies like state-of-the-art Digital Twin that serve all key stakeholders at the same time.

Why did we choose Crete?

Crete’s unique geographical and climatic conditions make it the perfect location to create a Renewable Energy Valley “Living Lab” (REV-Lab). This is where we’ll harness the island’s abundant and diverse renewable energy to meet the different needs of each local community. Crete is leading the way!

What are we doing in CRETE VALLEY?

In the past months, our engagement with local communities reached a high point through events and roadshows, most notably during the impactful REV Lab kick-off in June. By visiting the CELs, Crete Valley had the chance to introduce the project to citizens and better understand societal needs. Check our deliverable about REV Lab & CELs to learn more! 

We’ve also boosted our online presence, participating in social media campaigns during the European Sustainable Energy Week to spread the word about our mission.
