The Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO) presents "IPTO Analytics", the updated application for mobile devices aiming to provide a more extensive insight to the public about the progress of energy transition.
The updated version of the app integrates data regarding the energy mix in a simplified manner, through CO2 emission indicators that are updated in real time. In the new category "CO2 Emissions", IPTO Analytics users can browse the options:
CO2 Gauge, with a CO2 emissions intensity indicator, depending on the power generation mix,
Zero Emissions, with an indicator measuring the percentage of the energy mix that does not burden the environment with CO2 emissions,
Green Hours, with the "daisy" of clean energy that depicts intelligibly the share of RES in the energy mix for every hour of the day.
IPTO Analytics is the latest digital communication channel of IPTO, providing open data regarding the Hellenic Electricity Transmission System. Utilizing interactive graphs and maps, the app provides instant and live information on key parameters of the electrical system, such as electricity demand, power mix, and the international interconnections’ balance.
The Operator aims to continuously upgrade IPTO Analytics with additional functionalities, in order for the app to become a reference point for the awareness and education of the new generation for green energy consumption and the fight against climate crisis.
The Chairman and CEO of IPTO, Mr. Manos Manousakis, stated: “IPTO Analytics is intrinsically linked to IPTO's digital transformation and the furtherance of energy democracy. By integrating even more open data, the Operator’s application evolves into a valuable tool for informing and educating all people, both young and old, about how we produce and consume electricity on a daily basis and what impact this has on the environment.
