Instructions for safe kite flying

Advice from IPTO for citizens' safety

The Independent Power Transmission Operator advises not to fly your kite near Towers, overhead High Voltage Transmission Lines or close to Substations, as there is a serious risk of suffering an electric shock and causing power outages in the wider area.

In case your kite gets entangled in cables, then for your safety:

  • Do not attempt to release it by pulling the string or using other objects, even wooden ones,
  • Do not attempt to climb on High Voltage Towers or other spots near power lines.

In the event that something of the above happens, contact the local Police Department immediately.
